Barabás Winery was founded in 2014 in Balatonfüred and has since grown into a fully realised organic estate. Inspired by small family vineyards and a desire to live close to nature, winemaker Barna Barabás and his wife Lilla chose to plant their vines in isolated plots near the forest, creating a holistic ecosystem where viticulture is just one part of a larger sustainable vision.
This Bárka is a reflection of the winery’s evolving philosophy—grounded in experimentation, creativity, and a deep respect for nature. This certified organic red blend highlights the increasing prominence of Kékfrankos (more than 40%), complemented by Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and, for the first time, Syrah. The grapes were sourced from organically cultivated plots in Farkó-kő (Kékfrankos, Syrah, Cabernet Franc) and Penke (Merlot).
Fermentation took place with BIO yeast on the skins for two weeks in tank, followed by aging for nearly a year in used barrels. The result is a vibrant and fruit-forward wine with depth and elegance.
On the nose, the wine opens with lively aromas of red forest berries, cherry, and a touch of clove. The palate is equally expressive—juicy, refined, and structured, with well-ripened fruit at the forefront and a balanced, medium-bodied frame.
Pair with red meat dishes, game, or dark chocolate desserts.
