Yamazaki, Suntory’s flagship single malt whisky, hails from Japan’s first and oldest malt distillery. First introduced in 1984, this 12-year-old whisky was the first Japanese single malt to be marketed on a global scale. Since then, it has garnered a devoted following, and with good reason! It’s an exceptionally refined and smooth single malt, full of character and flavour.
On the nose, the whiskey is rich and full-bodied, featuring nut oils and zesty notes, complemented by a delicate floral quality, hints of tropical fruit, and an earthy undertone. The palate is silky and mellow, with a delightful balance of sweetness and warming winter spices. Bright citrus accents emerge alongside tropical fruit notes and a touch of rum before a finish that is medium in length, leaving behind flavours of fruit and zesty freshness.
