From the Woodstock winery in McLaren Vale, South Australia, ‘The Stock’s’ is the winery flagship bottle. This single vineyard Shiraz is made from 31 rows of low-yielding vines dating back to the 1900. Only produced in vintages deemed to be superb, quantities are minute. Winemaker Scott Collett say’s that he makes roughly 3 bottles from each vine!! A dark bouquet of confit blackberry, prune and chocolate; the palate shows a slight undergrowth complexity, which lifts the fruit and provides texture to balance out the lavish oak treatment; bright and squeaky acid on the finish.
