Veuve Clicquot Brut Rosé

In 1818, Madame Clicquot created the first known blended rosé champagne, unleashing a new style that combined vivacity with seductive fruit aromas — a tradition that continues to delight enthusiasts around the world. Born Barbe Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin in 1777, she was widowed at just 27, yet defied her era to become one of history’s first great female entrepreneurs. Her pioneering spirit brought the invention of vintage champagne, the riddling table, and the first blended rosé — shaping modern Champagne as we know it. Her achievements earned her the title “la grande dame of Champagne.”

Veuve Clicquot Rosé is crafted from a blend of 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 20% Meunier, sourced from 50 to 60 crus. Up to 45% of the blend is reserve wines to ensure consistent style, while 12% still red Pinot Noir from Bouzy imparts its vivid colour and depth. The wine undergoes a dosage of 9g/L to achieve its refined Brut balance.

On the nose, layers of red and black fruits — cherry, strawberry, raspberry, blueberry — intertwine with hints of white pepper, saffron, liquorice, toasted brioche, orange peel, and gingerbread. The palate shows signature Veuve Clicquot structure, with Pinot Noir providing backbone and length, balanced by a fresh, creamy texture and a lingering finish.

A versatile partner for food, this rosé pairs beautifully with tuna tartare, grilled prawns, duck breast with cranberry glaze, charcuterie, aged cheeses, or even berry tarts and macarons.
