The latest vintage of Te Mata’s top red is a wine for the cellar. It offers cassis, black licorice, bay leaf, ground black pepper and graphite notes on the nose. The palate brings chalky tight-grained tannins that knot firmly around the tongue. But all is in place for this wine to develop into an elegant and classy drop. Just give it time.
