Established in 1997, Sileni Estates is a renowned winery located in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand. Named after the Sileni, companions of Bacchus in classical mythology, the winery embodies a passion for great wine and food. Sileni has been certified under the Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand (SWNZ) scheme since 2002, reflecting its commitment to environmental stewardship and was awarded Platinum at the 2017 Decanter World Wine Awards, underscoring its dedication to excellence in winemaking

The Cellar Selection Pinot Gris is grown on a variety of soil types in Hawke’s Bay, including gravels, silt and clay loam. The different characteristics of these sites provide depth and complexity of flavour.

After harvest at optimum ripeness, grapes were destemmed and gently pressed, then fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain their natural fruit characters. A period of post- ferment lees contact has added texture to the palate.

On the nose there are ripe, juicy stone fruit, pear and citrus flavours, with a little spice and beautifully balanced acidity.

Serve with seafood, roast chicken or pasta with a fragrant pesto sauce.
