In 1995 Robert Mondavi and Eduardo Chadwick pioneered an international joint venture with a very challenging goal: to reach the full potential of Chile’s wine country and to create a world-class Icon-level wine like none other in Chile. Sharing their dream, efforts and dedication, in 1997 they released the first vintage of Seña (1995), Chile’s first icon wine. This marked a milestone and initiated the path for making ultra-premium wines in Chile
Seña is a unique Bordeaux-style red blend with a very Chilean soul. Its predominant variety is Cabernet Sauvignon (53%), while Carmenere (15%) clearly ties it to Chile. Malbec (25%) and Petit Verdot (7%) round out the blend
Violets, ripe cherry and red-plum aromas are delicate. Light notes of cinnamon and dried herbs fill up the bouquet. This is one of Chile’s iconic wines from a warm vintage in Aconcagua Valley that delivers good concentration of fruit on the ripe palate. Blackberry and cherry flavors are followed by light notes of oak spice. It has lively linear acidity and big tannins. It’s good to drink now and promise a good future. Drink through 2030. — 95 Points Wine Enthusiast – Jessica Vargas
The Seña Magnum is a wine meant for special occasions. Its bold flavors pair beautifully with rich dishes like grilled lamb, roasted duck, or aged steaks. The magnum format (1.5 liters) makes it ideal for sharing with a larger group, perfect for celebrating milestones or hosting memorable gatherings. Whether you’re a seasoned wine collector or simply seeking an unforgettable tasting experience, it is a surefire way to impress and create lasting memories.
