Quinta de Chocapalha is a true family project, rooted in a deep love for the land and its traditions. Nestled in the rolling hills that stretch from the Serra de Montejunto towards the Tagus River, the estate is surrounded by a landscape of ancient vineyards and majestic century-old trees. When Alice and Paulo Tavares da Silva discovered the nearly abandoned property in 1987, they were captivated by its beauty and history, knowing immediately it was where they would realise their dream of making great wine.
The vineyards, dating back to the 16th century, were carefully restructured, blending respect for tradition with modern viticultural knowledge. By 2000, the vines had reached maturity, and their daughter Sandra Tavares da Silva, passionate and determined, crafted her first vintage. Today, the wines of Quinta de Chocapalha are a reflection of this dedication: fresh, balanced and elegant, capturing the unique character of Lisbon’s terroir.
The family’s philosophy is simple — to honour the estate’s natural gifts, working with care in the vines and the cellar, creating wines that are full of life, with excellent ageing potential and a true sense of place.
Bright and intense in colour, this vibrant white offers wonderful aromatic complexity, true to its variety. Ripe citrus, green apple and passion fruit aromas are layered with delicate hints of asparagus. On the palate, it shows excellent minerality and impressive volume, remaining extremely fresh, elegant and finishing with remarkable length.
Perfectly suited to simple grilled fish, fresh summer salads, or a vibrant seafood platter shared with friends.
