Patricius Winery was founded by the Kékessy family in the heart of Tokaj, with a deep respect for the region’s winemaking heritage. The estate spans 68.5 hectares across six historic first-growth vineyards, including Sajgó and Szárhegy, and is based in Bodrogkisfalud. The winery itself is a blend of tradition and modernity, combining a noble 19th-century press house with a gravity-flow facility completed in 2005. Patricius has become one of the leading producers in the region, known for crafting elegant, terroir-driven wines that express the unique character of Tokaj.
The estate is guided by a strong sense of environmental and cultural responsibility. While not formally certified, Patricius operates in harmony with nature and the Tokaj landscape. Their philosophy emphasises balance, tradition, and sustainability—preserving both the region’s biodiversity and its cultural heritage. The winery also plays an active role in local life, helping to promote and protect the identity of Tokaj for future generations.
This Yellow Muscat comes from select parcels in the Sajgó and Szárhegy vineyards, where mineral-rich volcanic soils and the varied microclimates of Tokaj shape the wine’s distinct character. Grapes were harvested and processed gently using gravity flow to best preserve the natural fruit and aromatics. Fermentation took place entirely in stainless steel to retain freshness and purity, with careful blending of vineyard lots to achieve complexity and harmony.
The nose is charming and aromatic, with elegant floral notes, hints of fresh herbs, and bright fruit. On the palate, the wine is crisp and refreshing, with vivid acidity and a clear sense of minerality from the volcanic soils. A dry and lively expression of Yellow Muscat, it’s both refined and full of energy—perfect for warm evenings and casual moments alike.
Ideal as an aperitif, it also pairs well with steamed fish, mature cheeses, prosciutto with melon, cheesecake, and a range of Mediterranean dishes.
