Nieto Senetiner has become one of Mendoza’s most prominent wineries. Established in 1969, its vineyards and winery have been continuously expanded and modernized. Nieto cultivates vineyards across nearly all of Mendoza’s finest subregions, producing wines that embody the region’s signature balance of power and finesse. Their top wines originate from ancient vineyards in the renowned Agrelo subdistrict, earning them an iconic reputation. This particular wine is crafted from forty-year-old vineyards in Luján de Cuyo, a distinguished area within the Mendoza region.
Aged in French oak barrels for 10 months, this is a beautifully full-bodied wine with great concentration of vanilla, mocha, blackberries, sweet spices and clove.
On the nose, there are aromas of ripe blackberries, juicy plums, and a hint of sweet spice. The palate is rich and warming with vanilla, more black fruit, plums and cherries, as well as hints of leather. The wine is vibrant and well structured, with powdery, fragrant tannins.
A treat with rich, red sauce based pasta dishes, game and matured cheeses.
