Method and Madness is the experimental whiskey range from the renowned Midleton Distillery, where innovation and craftsmanship come together to push the boundaries of Irish whiskey. Guided by Master Distiller Kevin O’Gorman and the distillery’s team of makers, each release explores new cask influences and maturation techniques while remaining rooted in the quality and tradition for which Midleton is celebrated.

This Single Grain expression begins its journey in first-fill bourbon casks before being finished in virgin Spanish oak casks, an unusual partnership that brings together the natural sweetness of grain whiskey with the distinctive spice and character of fresh oak. The result is a whiskey that steps beyond the familiar, showcasing the creative spirit at the heart of the Method and Madness range.

The nose opens with aromas of fresh pencil shavings, delicate rose petals and pine after rainfall. On the palate, warm toasted oak intertwines with fresh grapefruit zest and vibrant wood spices, creating a lively balance between sweetness and spice. The finish is long and elegant, revealing notes of sweet cereal, clove spice and cooling fresh mint.
