With over 250 hectares of vineyards, including some of the oldest vines in Rioja, Bodegas Manzanos is putting the Rioja Oriental sub-region on the map. Combining tradition with innovation, they focus on native grape varieties like Tempranillo, Viura, and Garnacha. Their young, passionate team is dedicated to crafting wines that are enjoyable and full of character.
Spanning 300 hectares, the vineyards sit on clay-limestone soil at around 400 meters above sea level. Winemaker Borja Ripa carefully selects the best grapes, ensuring they are picked at the perfect moment. Harvesting is done by hand in early October. Using cutting-edge technology, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, followed by aging on lees in oak barrels. The wine spends four months in a mix of French and American oak, adding complexity without overpowering its fresh fruit flavors.
This vibrant white Rioja, made from Viura and Tempranillo, is bursting with aromas of sweet peach, citrus, and tropical fruits. Creamy notes and subtle spices from oak aging add depth, while bright acidity keeps it fresh and balanced.
It pairs perfectly with grilled fish, shellfish, garlic prawns, or grilled squid.
