Iconic Nero d’Avola from the grape’s heartland in Noto, southeast Sicily, near the town of Avola itself. Polished yet soulful, with depth, texture and silky tannins thanks to 40 year old bush vines and low intervention winemaking. It has expressive plum and cherry fruit and coffee and violet notes along with well-integrated oak following 14 months in French barriques. All of this is backed up by silky-smooth tannins and mouth-watering acidity. An outstanding wine that needs to be tried to be fully appreciated.
