Casa Bennati Soraighe ‘Ireos’ Rossi Veronese

The Bennati story begins with Antonio Bennati, born in 1870 near Soave in Cazzano di Tramigna, known locally as “Toni Recioto” for his expertise in Verona’s traditional raisin wines. In 1920, he founded Cantine Bennati with his son Annibale, establishing a winery that continues to evolve through new vineyards, modern facilities and research into Valpolicella traditions in collaboration with the University of Udine.

Soraighe is Bennati’s signature range, showcasing the family’s finest expressions of Veneto’s classic wine styles, crafted to emphasise terroir, balance and elegance.

“Ireos” is named after the wild iris flower that grows on the steep, terraced slopes of the Veronese hills. Produced in Cazzano di Tramigna, this Rosso del Veronese I.G.T. blends Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara and Cabernet Sauvignon to create a wine of complexity and finesse, shaped by careful vineyard management and precise winemaking.

Deep red in colour with subtle violet hues, the wine offers aromas of ripe wild berries, tobacco, coffee and juniper. The palate is velvety and elegant, with soft, integrated tannins and a smooth, rounded finish.

Ideal with roast veal or lamb, mushroom-based dishes and well-aged cheeses.

Original price was: £18.99.Current price is: £15.50.
