Bellevue Estate is a family-owned farm deeply rooted in South Africa’s rich winemaking heritage. With a pioneering legacy that includes the early commercial planting of Pinotage in the 1950s, the estate continues to marry innovation with tradition. Stellenbosch is widely regarded as South Africa’s ‘Kingdom of Cabernet’—a region where cold Atlantic breezes meet rugged mountain ranges, funnelling through valleys to temper the sun and promote slow, even ripening.

After a four-day cold soak, the grapes were fermented in tank with three daily aerated pump-overs. The wine was then transferred to 300-litre French oak barrels, where it underwent spontaneous malolactic fermentation and matured for 22 months in 60% new and select third-fill oak.

The result is a classically styled Stellenbosch Cabernet—elegant yet powerful, with layers of dark plum and cassis complemented by cedarwood, graphite, and a refined mineral edge. Fine-grained tannins and bright acidity provide structure and poise, leading to a long, seamless finish with impressive aging potential.

This full-bodied wine pairs beautifully with richly flavoured dishes. Serve it alongside a perfectly seared rib-eye steak, braised short ribs, or herb-crusted lamb chops. It also elevates venison with blackberry reduction or a smoky eggplant parmigiana, making it a versatile companion for hearty, indulgent meals.
