Banfi San Angelo Pinot Grigio is a distinguished white wine from Tuscany’s renowned Castello Banfi estate, celebrated for its commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation. Established in the late 1970s by the Mariani family, Castello Banfi has been a pioneer in Italian winemaking, blending tradition with modern techniques to produce exceptional wines.
Banfi’s dedication to sustainability is evident in its innovative practices, such as using lightweight bottles to reduce material usage and implementing an irrigation system that consumes 80% less water than traditional methods. The winery’s commitment to environmental responsibility has earned it international recognition for exceptional environmental, ethical, and social responsibility
The San Angelo Pinot Grigio is crafted from 100% Pinot Grigio grapes, cultivated in the estate’s vineyards characterized by pebbly, silty, and sandy soils. The wine undergoes fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks at 13–16°C, preserving its fresh and fruity character.
On the nose, it offers delicate aromas of white flowers, peach, and pear. The palate is bright and refreshing, featuring flavours of citrus, green apple, and tropical fruits, complemented by a hint of minerality. The wine has a smooth, elegant mouthfeel with a light to medium body and a crisp, clean finish.
This versatile wine pairs excellently with light dishes such as grilled vegetables, pasta primavera, seafood, and white meats like chicken in lemon sauce. Its vibrant acidity and fruit-forward profile also make it an ideal aperitif.
Banfi San Angelo Pinot Grigio has garnered acclaim from wine critics, with James Suckling awarding it 90 points for multiple vintages, highlighting its consistent quality and appeal.
