By Alejandro Fernandez Condado De Haza. The vineyard was discovered in the mid-1980’s by Alejandro Fernandez and is situated on a hillside right on the banks of the River Duero. The conditions are ideal for viticulture, with poor soils composed of gravel and clay and a southern facing aspect providing good exposure to the sun. Today the Condado de Haza wines regularly feature as one of the finest of the region. Composed of 100% Tempranillo and aged for 18 months in fine grained American oak barrels, the nose suggests aromas of plums, black cherry and liquorice. On the palate it is round and plush with sweet strawberries and ripe cherries, the texture is rich on the mid palate with wild berries, tobacco and chocolate. The creamy texture is supported by chewy tannins and acidity to balance the finish.
