Emma Marris Pinot Noir 2024 is the personal label of third-generation winemaker Emma Marris, created to explore distinctive vineyard sites and innovative winemaking while embracing her family’s Marlborough heritage. The fruit comes from selected Pinot Noir clones grown at Leefield Station in the Waihopai Valley.
Hand-harvested into open-top fermenters, with a portion of whole bunches retained for added structure and complexity. After a cold soak and warm fermentation, regular hand plunging and extended maceration helped develop depth and integrate the tannins. The wine was matured for 10 months in a combination of new and seasoned French oak puncheons, with malolactic fermentation before blending and bottling.
Elegant yet structured, it opens with red fruits and ripe plum, developing layers of graphite, black olive, tobacco, bramble and porcini. Wild berries are framed by polished, fruit-driven tannins and well-integrated French oak, with subtle baking spice and a long, refined finish.
Awarded 93 Points by Cameron Douglas MS and Gold at the Mundus Vini Spring Tasting 2026. Enjoy with grilled steak bavette and sauce au poivre, or roasted mushroom and thyme dishes for a vegetarian pairing.
