Emma Marris Chardonnay

Emma Marris Chardonnay is the personal label of third-generation winemaker Emma Marris, whose family has deep roots in Marlborough. The fruit comes entirely from Leefield Station in the Waihopai Valley, where Emma has the freedom to explore individual vineyard sites and innovative winemaking techniques.

Made from 100% Chardonnay, the grapes are hand-harvested and whole-bunch pressed before fermenting on full solids in carefully selected French oak. The wine is matured on fine lees for 10 months with occasional stirring, followed by malolactic fermentation to build texture and soften the acidity.

Elegant and beautifully textured, it combines orange blossom, yuzu and marmalade with subtle buttered brioche. The palate offers white peach and gentle tropical fruit, balanced by flinty minerality, supportive oak and a delicate hint of sandalwood. Fresh, complex and richly flavoured, with excellent length and balance.

Enjoy with spaghettini with mussels, prawns and chilli bisque, or roasted cauliflower and hazelnut risotto for a vegetarian pairing.
