Sausage Tree Vodka is a super-premium Irish vodka created at The Shed Distillery by master distiller PJ Rigney, whose passion for exploration inspired a journey from rural Drumshanbo to the African Serengeti in search of extraordinary botanicals. There he discovered the Kigelia africana, better known as the “Sausage Tree”, famed for its purifying and curative properties. Recognising a natural connection between this African fruit and the wild Irish nettles growing in the woodlands of Drumshanbo, Rigney brought the two together to create a truly distinctive vodka.

Slow distilled using Irish grain, wild Irish nettle and the fruit of the Sausage Tree, this vodka is crafted with exceptional attention to purity and smoothness. Multiple distillations produce a remarkably clean spirit with a velvety mouthfeel, while the gentle botanical influence of the Kigelia fruit gives the vodka its subtly sweet and refined finish, setting it apart from more traditional grain vodkas.

On the nose, it is clean and delicate, with soft earthy botanicals and subtle sweetness. The palate is exceptionally smooth and rounded, balancing crisp grain character with hints of wild nettle freshness and a delicate creamy sweetness. The finish is pure, elegant and lingering, with a soft botanical lift.

Perfect served ice cold, enjoyed neat, or as the base for ultra-clean classic cocktails such as a Martini or Vodka Soda. It also pairs beautifully with smoked salmon, oysters and light canapés.
